Heidi B. Martinsen

Heidi is usually involved with stage building, ticket sales, playing the horn, fixing musicians, among other things. She therefore qualifies as a handy woman along with Karina. Heidi is responsible for this website.

Heidi B. Martinsen was born in Oslo in 1978. She is a trained horn player and has been awarded a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree, a Post Graduate Diploma and a Masters’ degree.  She studied at Trinity College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and finally, Gothenburg Academy of Music. Her professors have been Stephen Stirling, Hugh Seenan, Jeff Bryant, John Lipton and Lisa Ford. Heidi has a varied musical career. Following her studies Heidi was in 2006 hired as a district musician in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway where she was a member of the brass quintet “Quintus”. From 2007 – 2008 she worked as a brass teacher and conductor at the school of culture in Alta, Norway. As a freelancing musician she has on numerous occasions worked with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Wind Orchestra and Luftforsvarets Musikkorps (The Norwegian Air Force Band). Heidi has also appeared at “Festival Consonances” in France, “St. Endellion Music Festival” in Cornwall, England, and of course at Kosterfestivalen.
