Weberkvartetten
The Weber Quartet is one of Sweden’s finest and most industrious string quartets. They frequently perform and record for radio and tv and are touring continuously throughout Sweden and abroad. With individual studies in among other places London, Copenhagen and San Francisco the Weber Quartet was formed in 1997 and has since 2005 been a full-time string quartet. The Weber Quartet has studied with string music authorities like Lars Fresk, Simon Rowland-Jones, the Chilingirian Quartet, Paavo Pohjola, the Allegri Quartet and Thomas Brandis. They have won competitions and participated in several prestigious festivals.
They are diligent ambassadors of contemporary music and have commissioned music from a great variety of Swedish composers among them Fredrik Högberg and Sven-David Sandström. The Weber Quartet has collaborated with some of Swedens finest musicians, dancers and actors such as Martin Fröst, Margareta Hallin, Karin
Dornbusch, Fredrik Paulsson, Johan Fröst, Jeanette Köhn, Norrdans as well as Christian Immler, Mark Nixon and tango musicians Marcelo Nisinman and Pablo Agri.
As Quartet in Residence at the County Museum of Västernorrland (Mid-Sweden) they have formed a base for developing and executing unique cross-over projects and their boundless search for exciting repertoire and interesting collaborations
