Kosterfestivalen 2010

Planleggingen foran årets festival er i full gang og mange spennende artister og musikere ventes i år til festivalen som går av stabelen i uke 29 – Mandag 19. til søndag 25. juli.
En av våre store nyheter i år er at en av Skandinavias ledende strykekvartetter skal delta som ‘ensemble in residence’. Disse skal blant annet spille Shostakovich kvartett No . 8 ‘Dresden- kvartetten’ og Schubert’s ‘Døden og Piken’, Strykekvartett No. 14. Sammen med blåsere fra en rekke europeiske nasjoner som daglig virker i orkestre som Dresden Statskapelle skal vi i år igjen ha et hovedfokus på kammermusikk.
Verk som strykesekstett No. 2 i G-dur av Brahms, Schubert’s kvintett i C-dur samt flere spennende verker for strykekvartett og blåsere vil være å finne på årets program.
Kosters Trädgårdar vil som vanlig utgjøre festivalens sentrum med daglige hovedkonserter kl. 18.00 og enkelte sene kveldskonserter under navnet ‘Sommarnattsmusik’ for de som vil møte natten med en musikalsk opplevelse utenom det vanlige..
Tradisjonen tro vil man kunne oppleve en musikalsk solnedgang på Vafjäll hver dag kl. 21.30.
Mange husker sikkert den fantastiske operagallaen fra i fjor – som i år videreføres med to ulike konserter; en ‘Operaafton på Trädgården’ hvor publikum med og uten høy champagne – føring kan hengi seg i et hav av vidunderlig fremførte arier fra kjente og kjære operaer. En ny type operakonsert som Thomas Flodin har fått introdusert gjennom danske operakolleger gjør også sin entré på festivalen: ‘Opera stand – up’. Dette er en spennende og actionfyllt konsertform hvor publikum får et flott innsyn i operaverdenens fantastiske perler samt facts & fiction, presentert av fantastiske sangere, forteller og pianist.
Billetter til alle konserter selges under festivalens gang på festivalområdet.
Detaljert programblad med utførlig omtale av programmet og utøverne vil foreligge på kosterbåtene og på turistkontoret fra slutten av juni. Informasjonen vil også bli å finne på nettsidene våre innen kort tid.

My name is Patricia Aragon, I am the manager of AfroCubanConcertMusic (ACCM), a culture promotion company, which represents the Cuban master Luis Lugo internationally.
ACCM’s fundamental work is to coordinate Luis Lugo’s constant presence in the international music circuit by managing concert tours, theater recitals and invitations to participate in international festivals of classical, Latin-American, jazz and worldwide music.
The Cuban pianist and composer Luis Lugo is one of the most prominent interpreters of classical and Cuban music. He possesses a long and outstanding trajectory in different countries in Latin America and Europe.
Lugo is one of the few artists in the world that can perform –in one same concert– from classical plays, such as Scriabin’s or Rachmaninoff’s sonata, to the most popular Ibero-American, Cuban or jazz repertoire, with a novel harmonic conception and virtuous creativity, while conserving a concert style in any of the fore mentioned genres. He is recognized by the media and specialized critics as being a giant of Cuban music at an international level and is considered “Cuba’s piano.”
Taking into account Lugo’s background, what possibilities do we have in realizing several concerts in this next season? What elements are necessary for you to make this decision?
Considering the experience and seriousness that you and your office uphold we would like to have the opportunity to work with you so that master Lugo can offer his art form in several of the artistic events of the region during the 2010/2011 season.
